Ceremonials mask, white and black

This handmade leather mask is inspired by the intricate curls of Venetian masks.

The design is based on a set of masks (one white on black, one black on white) I gave as a wedding present to two of my friends.

Made from vegetable tanned leather, shaped, dyed, then painted with Liquitex heavy body acrylics. I tried to do the curls with paint pens, but they dug too much into the paint, so I ended up painting the curls. Very time consuming!
